A.C.T Were Acting Irreproachably

A.C.T is a band whose music is hard to describe. They have been compared with Saga and Dream Theater and mixes brutal mangle with softest lovely singing from the throat of Herman Saming. 

The well-attended gig on the Saturday afternoon was easier to describe: Fantastic!
A sparklingly happy singer who is hard to be still, dancing, gesticulating and suddenly disappearing from the stage. 

A gang with extreme competent musicians who makes the heaviest and quickest parts of the repertoire to sound (and feel) as precise and tight as few angry metal bands manage to do. 

Keyboards supplement the song in the calmer parts and bass, drums and guitar delivers growl and heaviness completing the concept of a really well directed spectacle. Any special solo parts are not necessary. The musicians are instantly proving their knowing in the well-balanced changes of tempo. 

The band did their first Sweden Rock Festival-gig two years ago and got appointed as the best live act in 2003 by Sweden Rock Magazine.

The set list on Saturday had been adjusted especially for the festival gig. The heavier numbers were played to fit the surroundings. One of the songs was a sample from the forthcoming CD and with “No Longer Touching the Ground” ringing in the back of the head the next album can be really good. 

The best songs were not unexpectedly “Mr Landlord”, “Manipulator” and “Torn by a Phrase”. All three of them from the irreproachable CD “Last Epic”.

Herman Saming regisserade en fantastisk rock-act.

A.C.T är ett band vars musik är svår att beskriva. De har liknats vid Saga och Dream Theater och blandar brutalt mangel med vänaste skönsång från vilshultssonen Herman Samings strupe. 

Den ganska välbesökta spelningen på lördagseftermiddagen är desto lättare att beskriva: Fantastisk. 

En sprudlande glad sångare som har svårt att vara stilla, dansande, gestikulerande och plötsligt försvinnande från scen. Ett gäng ytterst kompetenta musiker som får de tyngsta och snabbaste bitarna av repertoaren att låta (och kännas) så där exakta och tighta som få arga metal band klarar av. Keyboards kompletterar sången i de lugnare partierna och bas, trummor och gitarr levererar muller och tyngd för att fullborda bilden av ett riktigt välregisserat skådespel. 

Några speciella solopartier behövs inte. Musikerna ger hela tiden prov på sitt kunnande i avvägda tempoväxlingar. 
Bandet festivaldebuterade för två år sedan och utsågs då av Sweden Rock Magazine till 2003 års festivals bästa framträdande.
Lördagens låtlista hade anpassats speciellt för festivalspelningen. De tyngre numren hade plockats fram för att passa in i omgivningen. 

En av låtarna var ett smakprov från en kommande skiva och med No longer Toughing the Ground ringande i bakhuvudet kan nästa album bli riktigt bra. De bästa låtarna var inte oväntat Mr Landlord, Manipulator och Torn by a Phrase. Alla tre hämtade från klockrena CD’n Last Epic.
